What is Polymethacrylimide PMI Foam Cores？

Polymethylacrylimide foam (referred to as PMI foam), also known as the “king of foam”. It is a closed-cell rigid plastic foam with the best mechanical and mechanical properties, excellent chemical corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and creep resistance. It has the characteristics of light weight, high strength and high/low temperature resistance. At the same time, the material also has the functions of heat insulation, sound insulation, low dielectric constant, flame retardant, wave absorption and so on.

Application

PMI foam is the foam with the highest strength and rigidity under the condition of the same density among all the bubbles, and the pores of the foam are basically consistent and uniform with 100% closed pores. Its creep resistance at high temperatures makes the foam suitable for high temperature curing resins and prepregs, and can withstand the requirements of the dimensional stability of the foam during the curing process of 200C°. Therefore, PMI is widely used, mainly in the aerospace field, ship field, medical field, UAV field, rail transit, electronics field.
