The resultant Schiff base undergoes asymmetric alkylation with arylmethyl bromides in the presence of O-allyl-N-(9-anthracenylmethyl)cinchonidinium bromide as chiral phase transfer catalyst to give guanidine-containing pentacyclic compound.
