Sodium Tallowate CAS 8052-48-0
Sodium Tallowate (CAS 8052-48-0, Fatty acids, tallow, sodium salts) is a mixture of fatty acid sodium salts produced by the saponification reaction of animal fat (butter) with sodium hydroxide. Sodium tallowate is a classic anionic surfactant and is the core raw material of traditional soap. Sodium Tallowate has excellent properties such as cleaning, emulsification, foaming, and thickening. It produces abundant and stable foam and remains stable at room temperature. It decomposes into fatty acids when exposed to strong acids and forms insoluble soap-like deposits when in contact with heavy metal salts.
