What is N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone NMP CAS 872-50-4?

NMP(N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) is a polar solvent with excellent properties. Because of its very high solubility, high boiling point and low freezing point, it is easy to use and has a wide range of applications. NMP can be completely miscible in most organic solvents (alcohols, ethers, ketones, aromatics, chlorinated hydrocarbons, etc.), and the solubility of organic matter and inorganic matter is large. Application

N-Methyll-2-pyrrolidone is an excellent extraction solvent widely used as an extractant in processes such as aromatic hydrocarbon extraction, acetylene concentration, butadiene separation, and desulfurization of synthesis gas. It is also a solvent in the production of pesticides, engineering plastics, coatings, synthetic fibers, integrated circuits, and can be used as an industrial detergent, dispersant, dye, lubricant antifreeze, etc.
