Hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ether CAS104-38-1
Hydroquinone dihydroxyethyl ether, abbreviated as HQEE, has a CAS number of 104-38-1. It is a white to off-white flake / crystalline powder / granule, with a nearly odorless nature.
Melting point: 102–107 ℃, industrial standard range 104~107 ℃
Boiling point: 185–200 ℃ (under 0.3 mmHg reduced pressure conditions); normal pressure boiling point is approximately 380 ℃
Flash point: approximately 183.6 ℃
Solubility: almost insoluble in water; soluble in methanol, ethanol, DMF, and hot acetone; at low temperatures, the solubility in most organic solvents is relatively low, and heating for melting is usually required during use
Properties: Hygroscopic, sensitive to light, will gradually turn yellow under long-term exposure to light; solid at room temperature, low viscosity after melting, and good compatibility with MDI prepolymer.

Application
HQEE is a symmetrical aromatic diol chain extender and reacts with MDI prepolymer to be used in castable CPU, thermoplastic TPU, and mixed-type MPU polyurethane elastomers.
1. Enhance the tensile strength, tear strength, hardness, resilience, heat resistance, and compression permanent deformation of PU elastomers.
2. Hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ether is used in high-performance polyurethane products: oil well seals, hydraulic oil seals, forklift solid tires, heavy-duty conveyor belts, wear-resistant rubber rollers, and high-temperature spandex.
3. Hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ether can also be used in unsaturated polyester, UV coating active diluents, and organic synthesis intermediates.
Why choose us ?
1. It is an environmentally friendly chain extender, with superior safety compared to MOCA and meeting more overseas environmental requirements.
2. The operational application period is longer: The HQEE + MDI system has a longer operational time after mixing, facilitating pouring processing and reducing waste rate. Alibaba.co…
3. Excellent mechanical properties: Significantly enhance the tear strength, high-temperature resistance, and compression permanent deformation resistance of PU, suitable for heavy-duty, high-temperature, and high-pressure seals.
4. Symmetrical structure, stable batch hydroxyl value, and small fluctuations in product properties; regular purity ≥ 98%, high purity specifications up to 99%, low moisture content, reducing bubble defects.
5. Outstanding hydrolysis resistance, suitable for long-term use in oil-water medium conditions (oilfield sealing, hydraulic oil seal).
6. Wide compatibility: Pouring CPU, TPU, MPU, high-temperature nylon; can be used alone or combined with aliphatic diols for adjustment of processing temperature and hardness.
7. Exported as ordinary chemical products, with simple procedures; can provide complete MSDS, COA, TDS, support testing, and customized packaging.

FAQ
Q: What is the recommended addition ratio?
A: According to the NCO/OH equivalent ratio in the formula, generally calculated based on the prepolymer equivalent; the regular addition amount of HQEE is adjusted according to the target hardness, and it is recommended that the customer conduct a small-scale test to confirm.
Q: How is its solubility?
A: Hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ether CAS104-38-1 is almost insoluble in water; has low solubility in acetone and ethyl acetate; after high-temperature melting, it has good compatibility with the MDI prepolymer. The processing method usually requires heating and melting before mixing with the prepolymer.
Q: What are the storage conditions and shelf life?
A: Store in a sealed, cool, and dry place, protected from light. This product has hygroscopicity and is sensitive to UV light; exposure to light will cause it to turn yellow. The original sealed packaging has a shelf life of 24 months; use it up as soon as it is opened. Moisture absorption will cause it to form lumps. It is recommended to dry it before evaluating its usage.
Q: What are the packaging specifications?
A: The regular packaging is 20kg cardboard boxes (with aluminum foil inner bags), or 25kg cardboard drums; testing can be provided. MOQ: 20kg. The inventory can be delivered within 3-7 days. Large orders can be scheduled for production.
Q: What are the processing temperature requirements?
A: The melting point of HQEE is approximately 98–103℃. It needs to be heated and melted for use; it is recommended that the material temperature be ≥110℃ to prevent crystallization and precipitation from blocking the equipment. Hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ether CAS104-38-1 can be compounded with other diols to reduce the melting temperature.
