Application
Ethyl silicate can be used as an insulation material, coating, zinc powder coating adhesive, optical glass processing agent, coagulant, organic silicon solvent, and precision casting adhesive for the electronics industry. It can also be used to manufacture model boxes for metal investment casting methods; After complete hydrolysis of ethyl silicate, extremely fine silica powder is produced, which is used to manufacture fluorescent powder; Used for organic synthesis, preparation of soluble silicon, preparation and regeneration of catalysts; It is also used as a crosslinking agent and intermediate in the production of polydimethylsiloxane.
Core performance selling points
1. High silicon dioxide content, resulting in a more cost-effective formula
2. Controlled hydrolysis, dense film formation, extremely strong adhesion
3. Low viscosity, good fluidity, friendly for construction
4. Special bonding agent for precision casting, resulting in high precision of the castings.
5. Multi-functional cross-linking precursors, with wide application scenarios:
– Organic silicone sealants, silicone resin cross-linking agents;
– High-purity nano-silica, aerogel, and silica gel precursor materials;
– Optical coatings, fire-resistant coatings, electronic insulation coatings;
– Can be used to modify alkyd resins, epoxy resins, improving the heat resistance and hardness of the paint film.
6. High hardness and heat resistance after curing
The hydrolysis curing forms an inorganic silicon-oxygen framework, with high temperature resistance. The paint film is not prone to softening or burning, suitable for the anti-corrosion of high-temperature equipment and pipelines.

Usually packed in 25kg/drum,and also can be do customized package. Ethyl silicate 40 suppliers, offer ethyl silicate 40 price.

FAQ
Q: What are the main indicators of the regular COA?
A: – SiO₂: 40-42% (core indicator)
– Free acid (measured in HCl) ≤ 0.1%
– Density (at 20°C): 1.04-1.07 g/cm³
– Viscosity, color, low boiling substances, moisture
Customers’ key concerns: SiO₂ content, free acid; excessive free acid can lead to premature hydrolysis and gelation during storage.
Q: Why is the product prone to turbidity and gel failure during storage?
A: This product is very sensitive to water vapor. If the lid of the container is not sealed properly, moisture from the air will enter, causing slow hydrolysis and condensation, increasing viscosity, and eventually resulting in gel failure.
✅ Expiration date: 12 months for sealed original barrels; use up the contents as soon as possible after opening.
Q: Can it be directly used in food / cosmetics?
A: Ethyl Silicate 40 is an industrial raw material and cannot be directly used as a food additive or cosmetic raw material; if used for food contact coatings, a separate migration test needs to be conducted to confirm local regulations.
Q: Storage conditions?
A: Sealed, in a cool, dry, and ventilated warehouse; away from open flames, heat sources, oxidants, acids and alkalis; strictly prevent moisture; recommended 25kg plastic barrels, 200kg inner PE iron barrels.
Q: Sample policy?
A: Sample fee is charged; the sample fee will be refunded after placing a large order.
Sample delivery time: 1-3 working days for inventory preparation, 3-7 days for international delivery (depending on the destination country).
Q: Delivery time for large orders?
– Standard SI-40 (SiO₂ 40-42%): 7-12 working days after receiving the deposit
– Customized low free acid specifications: 12-20 working days
Packaging: 25kg PE barrels / 200kg inner PE iron barrels.
