Diisooctyl phthalate, English name 2, 4-diethyl-9h-Thioxanthen-9-one, is a colorless oily liquid at room temperature and pressure, insoluble in water but soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide and alcohol organic solvents. Diisooctyl phthalate is a derivative of phthalic acid, which can be prepared by esterification of phthalic anhydride and isooctyl alcohol.
