What is Cyclohexanol
Colorless oily flammable liquid that appears as white crystals below the freezing point. Melting point 24℃ (freezing point 25.15℃), boiling point 161.10℃, relative density 0.9493 (20/4℃), refractive index 1.4648, flash point (open cup) 67.2℃, viscosity (30Chemicalbook℃) 41.067mPa·s. It is miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol, ethyl acetate, linseed oil, aromatic hydrocarbons, ether, acetone, chloroform and other organic solvents, and is slightly soluble in water. The explosion limit when mixed with air is 1.52%-11.1% (volume). It has a camphor-like odor and is hygroscopic.

Application
Cyclohexanol is an important chemical raw material, mainly used in the production of adipic acid, hexamethylenediamine, cyclohexanone, and caprolactam. It can also be used as a stabilizer for soap, to manufacture disinfectant soaps and descaling emulsions, and for rubber, Chemicalbook solvents for resins, nitrocellulose, metal soaps, oils, esters, and ethers, admixtures for paint, leather degreasing agents, release agents, dry cleaning agents, and polishing agents. Cyclohexanol is also a raw material for fiber finishing agents, pesticides, and plasticizers. Cyclohexanol reacts with phosgene to obtain cyclohexyl chloroformate, which is the intermediate of the initiator dicyclohexyl peroxydicarbonate.
