    Bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl) Ether, abbreviated as BDMAEE, is commonly known as amine ether. It is a highly active tertiary amine type polyurethane foaming catalyst with a pure product purity of ≥ 99%. It is commonly available in a 70% dilute solution (A-1 catalyst, diluent dipropylene glycol), mainly used for polyurethane soft foams, high resilience foams, and RIM products.

    Advantages of Use
    1. Bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl) Ether has extremely strong foaming selectivity, favoring the generation of CO₂ through the reaction of water with MDI/TDI, while having a weak catalytic effect on gel reactions. The pores are fine and uniform, with high foam rebound rate, making it suitable for high-resilience soft foams, automotive seat cushions, and RIM products.
    2. Bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl) Ether has a high tolerance for organic tin catalysts, with a wide formula adjustment window, a stable foaming process, and is less prone to collapse or cracking.
    3. The pure product has extremely high activity and a low addition amount; it can be directly used or diluted to a 70% solution (A-1) for convenient measurement and operation.
    4. Bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl) Ether has excellent compatibility with polyether polyols and isocyanate systems; it has moderate volatility; the foam product has excellent elongation and physical properties.

    Aplication

    1. High Resilience Molded Foam (HR) [Main] Automobile seats, headrests, armrests, motorcycle seats, office chair seats; improve cell opening, resilience, and compression permanent deformation; shorten demolding time, the surface of the product is smooth, suitable for MDI/TDI molding production lines.
    2. Block Soft Foam (Flat Foam)
    Mattresses, sofa foams, carpet pads, packaging cushion foams; water-blowing system, cell pores are fine and uniform, reducing shrinkage and collapse defects; Bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl) Ether often used in combination with organic tin / other amine catalysts.
    3. RIM Reaction Injection Molding, Semi-Rigid Foam
    Automobile instrument panels, door panels, semi-rigid foam energy-absorbing components; improve material flow, good mold cavity filling, fewer product defects.
    4. Whole Skin Foam (Self-Adhering Skin)
    Automobile armrests, steering wheels, shoe materials; promote rapid surface formation, fully foam the core.
    5. Hard Foam (Auxiliary Catalyst)
    Building insulation, packaging hard foams; not used as the main catalyst, used as an auxiliary to improve foaming efficiency and shorten the activation time.

    Package and Storage

    Storage temperature: 5 – 30℃ in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Do not expose to temperatures above 35℃. Keep away from heat sources, sparks and open flames. Store in a dark place. High temperatures will accelerate the oxidation and color change of amines.
    It must be completely sealed. Use coated iron drums / HDPE drums. Do not use ordinary carbon steel containers as amines will corrode the carbon steel and produce hydrogen gas. Do not leave it open. To prevent absorption of CO₂ and water vapor from the air, which will form carbonates and reduce catalytic activity.
    Separate storage: Do not store together with strong acids, strong oxidants, or organic acids in the same warehouse. In the presence of strong acids, it will undergo intense neutralization and release heat. Avoid contact with copper and iron heavy metals.
    Original factory sealed shelf life: 12 months. After opening, tighten the drum cover to isolate from air. It is recommended to use it within 6 months. After absorbing CO₂, the catalytic activity will decrease.

    Q: What are the causes for the perforation of the foam, large-sized pores, and collapse of the bubbles?
    A: Excessive addition of Bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl) Ether led to a rapid foaming reaction, causing gas to escape; reducing the amount of BDMAEE and using a gel-type amine catalyst simultaneously to balance the foaming-gelation reaction, and conducting a gradient test.

    Q: What is the cause of the white crystals / white precipitates in the barrel?
    A: The product absorbs CO₂ from the air, generating dimethylamino carbonate; this will reduce the catalytic activity; the appearance of precipitates is not recommended for feeding; storage must be strictly sealed to prevent contact with air.

    Q: Can it be mixed directly with strong acids?
    A: Direct and large-scale mixing is strictly prohibited; it will undergo intense neutralization and release heat; if pH adjustment is needed, it must be done at a low temperature, with a large amount of dilution, and slowly adding the strong acid while vigorously stirring.

    Q: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
    A: For industrial bulk goods, the regular MOQ is 25 kg; small samples can be provided for formula testing; small samples will charge a sample fee, and large order quantities can be negotiated to offset the sample fee.
