What Is Aluminum fluoride
Aluminum fluoride is a colorless trigonal crystal or white crystalline powder, soluble in water and hydrofluoric acid, insoluble in other solvents, and even heated to fuming with concentrated sulfuric acid, still does not react. The anhydrous substance is very stable and will not decompose when heated until sublimation.

Application
In the production of aluminum, it is used as an electrolytic bath component to lower the melting point and increase the conductivity of the electrolyte. It is also used as an inhibitor of fermentation in the production of alcohol. It is used as a flux for the outer glaze of ceramics and enamel for chemicalbook enamel, and as a flux for non-ferrous metals. Used as welding fluid in metal welding. Used in the manufacture of optical lenses. It is also used as a catalyst for organic synthesis and a raw material for synthesizing cryolite.
