2-Amino-1,3-propanediol, also known as 2-amino-1,3-propanediol, is a pre chiral amino alcohol. Because its structure is similar to serine, it is commonly referred to as serine alcohol. The chemical properties of serine alcohol are stable, with corrosiveness, hygroscopicity, and good water solubility.
2-Amino-1,3-propanediol is used as an intermediate in several chemical applications and also useful for serinol and some of its derivatives.
