What Is Triacetin?

Colorless transparent oily liquid, slightly bitter, slightly soluble in water, soluble in various organic solvents, with general ester properties. Boiling point 258 ℃ (0.101 mpa), flash point 138 ℃ (closed cup), melting point 3 ℃. Strong solvation effect can endow products with good flexibility.

Application

1>It is mainly used as the plasticizer of cellulose diacetate, the filter tip of cigarettes, as well as as the fixative and lubricating matrix of essence, fragrances and cosmetics;

2>In addition, it is also used as a plasticizer and solvent for ink coatings, such as nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose, and cellulose acetate butyrate;

3>In casting, it is used as a self hardening agent for molding sand.
