What is Fluorescent Brightening Agent 52 CAS 12224-03-2？

CAS 12224-03-2 Fluorescent Brightening Agent 52 (C.I. Fluorescent Brightening Agent 52, also known as Fluorescent Brightening Agent 52) is a classic coumarin-based fluorescent brightening agent. Its main function is to absorb ultraviolet light and emit blue light, thereby counteracting the yellow/grey tones of the material and significantly enhancing whiteness and brightness.
MDAC can absorb ultraviolet light in the range of 300–400 nm and convert it into blue light emission in the range of 420–480 nm; the blue light complements the yellow light emitted by the material itself, resulting in a visually more white and brighter effect.
