Toepassing

Clemastine fumarate is een selectieve histamine H1-receptor antagonist (Ki = 0.26 nM) dat geeft ook een hoge affiniteit voor muscarine receptoren (Ki = 16 nM). Het heeft ook onlangs geïdentificeerd als een positieve allosteric modulator van P2X7 receptor signalering. Clemastine fumarate lang gebruikt om te remmen histamine geïnduceerde bronchoconstrictie bij astma en luchtwegen hyperresponsive studies.
