Soluble in carbon disulfide and pyridine, insoluble in most organic solvents, and insoluble in water (10mg/L). Unstable to light, heat, and moisture, and prone to decomposition when exposed to alkaline substances or copper. Ethylene thiourea is present in the decomposition products of zinc oxide, which is highly toxic.
