It absorbs ultraviolet light (300-400 nm) and re-emits it as intense blue-violet fluorescence (400-500 nm), effectively masking the inherent yellowness of substrates and producing a bright, visually white appearance. Fluorescent Brightener 28 is particularly valued in polymer and coating applications for its excellent thermal stability and compatibility.
