NMN is a key precursor of coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+). This naturally occurring compound is a nucleotide derivative of vitamin B3, also known as niacin or niacinamide. NAD+is a key molecule involved in multiple metabolic pathways. As we age, the levels of NAD+in our body naturally decrease, leading to impaired cellular function and increased susceptibility to age-related diseases. Multiple studies have shown that increasing NAD+levels by supplementing with NMN may have profound health benefits. By increasing NAD+levels, NMN is believed to activate certain enzymes involved in DNA repair.
